Roots My trick for surviving the horrors of trade shows has been to sneak away to a local salon have have my nails done. It began way back when Web Developer magazine sponsored conferences. I had a full set of a two inch acrylic nails attached to my own meagre attempt in Chicago. They were painted blue, Radium to be exact, a now defunct Urban Decay offering. Radium, a personal favourite from my collection of seventy five bottles. But it wasn't so much about the nails, as it was about sitting down within a community of women. Course in Chicago they were Russian and I couldn't understand a word, but to experience their companionship vicariously was magic. I think I miss that the most. Moving around from city to city and country to country hasn't been all that good for putting down roots and building my own community. But I'm working on that. I just have to sit tight for once. Yo ho ho! Disneyland closes ride after another accident. Did I mention that we went to Disneyland on Christmas day? Sat in the first car of Space Mountain and screamed ourselves silly. Humour award goes to The Jungle Boat ride and how could one not ride The Haunted House for old times sake? "Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination, MMMmmm? And consider this dismaying observation, this chamber has no windows, and no doors." montrealstories.org: "everyone has a story to tell. these are stories about montreal. where people live, how they live, why they live here. an impressionistic look at montreal by people who love the city." Jezebel's Mirror was selected as a USAtoday.com Hot Site. I called Claire to let her know that Eamon's sweet face is featured in the blurb. Yesterday? Preparation H! |
