harrumph! baby

link this, baby!  friday, april 13

Another view.

If the cable were longer, it would be the dog park cam, but it's not, so, it's the Burgermeister/MUNI cam.

Speaking of burgers, well not really, but about the much coveted Morningstar Farms Meat-Free Corn Dogs.

They've been recalled! The horror!

"Worthington Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling all its veggie Corn Dogs and Mini Corn Dogs due to the detection of StarLink corn in samples of Morningstar FarmsŪ veggie Corn Dogs. The recall is based on test results the company commissioned from an independent laboratory...While StarLink corn has not been approved for human food, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) officials, as well as leading allergists and scientists, have emphasized that the corn poses no immediate health concerns."

First they take my Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold & Flu Medicine Effervescent, and now the Corn Dogs.
Megnut on marriage (04/12). I was struck by the same bit in Rebecca Mead's "Conditional Surrender," New Yorker, April 2, "She refrains from correcting him when he makes a mistake, such as driving for miles beyond his appointed freeway exit..." I'd rather poke myself with a spork.

Forget the © stuff, baby. Linking = marriage. "Referrer: who is married to the owner of this weblog site where the owner posted about her husbands recent purchase of 360,000 pieces of LEGO."

Mmmmmm. Sargent. "We can easily see why from his portrait of "Elizabeth Winthrop Chanler" (1893). Where other portraitists represented here, such as Cecilia Beaux and James Jebusa Shannon, strain for effect or merely busy the eye with a dither of brushwork, Sargent wastes no visual energy detailing what need only be hinted at. Sparse silver highlights give dimension to the otherwise flat black mass of Mrs. Chanler's satin dress. Sargent also adjusted Chanler's proportions -- slightly lengthening her neck and arms..." - 'Gilded' Treasures American elite looks to Europe in Smithsonian works at Stanford, SF Gate.

Yesterday? Consumer kvetching.
