Confidential to M: An easy recipe for perfectly cooked rice. 1 cup long grain rice, 1 1/2 cup water, 1 pot with tightly fitting lid. Place water and rice in pot, stir well, and place uncovered over high heat. Bring to boil. Resisting the urge to stir, reduce temperature to low and cover with lid when the surface of the water reaches the level of the rice. Cook for twenty minutes. Do not lift the lid. I know it will be tempting to peak, but don't! After twenty minutes, remove from heat and fluff with fork. Voila! Perfectly cooked rice.
