Lame-o Heather falls asleep early leaving her poor beasts to cross their little chicken legs. She wakes in the wee hours, 2AM to be exact, and stumbles forth into the park, responding to their call of nature. It's not a pretty site. Sleep rumpled in jammies, toque and clogs, she staggers after the pups as they begin the circuit of visitation upon the favoured benches and bushes. Suddenly, she finds herself illuminated in the darkness by a shockingly bright light and turns to discover the boys in blue. Their cruiser has turned into the park and both agents of the law have their hand held beacons zeroed on her. "I'm walking the dogs!" she says half heartedly rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She points and only then realizes that the earth berm betwixt is hiding their furry forms from view. An additional light blasts forth from their chariot as she bends to retrieve one pup. She turns and holds Tigger aloft, towards them, as proof. "I'm walking the dogs." A moment passes as they contemplate her offering (is it a rat?) and then blinding lights fail. As her eyes adapt to the darkness, the patrol car reverses into the street, returning to the ever vigilant quest of rousting out evil-doers. Yumi had a very fine comment about Ashcroft's veiling of the nude statues - "How very Taliban of them."
Rabbit rabbit! The day before yesterday? Humour. |
