harrumph! still crazy!

An unfortunate mix of media:
  1. The Mothman Prophecies*
  2. James Patterson's 1st to Die
  3. Lives of the Saints "The Mormons are ready for the Olympics, but they face a struggle over their legacy," The New Yorker, January 21, 2002
The result? A dream, or rather nightmare, populated by serial killer Mothman Moroni angels. It was as frightening as it sounds.

* Not so bad, not so good. Richard Gere is an attractive man, but he's forever stuck in my head as the American Gigolo. Isn't he just so 80s? I know that sounds horrible, and given my propensity towards the music of that decade, rings false. Netflix coughed up another 80s gem last week. Manhunter. I still think it's a beautiful movie, but the music? Extended Tomita torture.
2002-2002-2002 Steve forwarded the following:
"At 8:02 p.m. that day, for one minute only, it will be 2002-2002-2002, or more accurately 20:02,20/02,2002. Because there are only 24 hours on the international clock, this will never happen again. So why not celebrate this event? Please send us your pictures taken at that exact moment in any place you find yourself. We will publish it here in ZoneZero it will be fun to see what happens."

"In a strong endorsement of a young genre, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is acquiring two works of Internet-based art for its permanent collection and today is hanging them, so to speak, on a special section of the foundation's Web site at guggenheim.org/internetart. The works are "net.flag" by Mark Napier and "Unfolding Object" by John F. Simon Jr." Getting Tangible Dollars for an Intangible Creation. [via MetaFilter]
