We sat down a couple of nights ago to watch John in MTV's "Sex2K: Naked on the Web" and it was very obvious that the producers had it all mapped out. While Halcyon was articulate and presented his vision well, the other interviewees were a train wreck waiting to happen and in the end, it all came down that poor, dead horse -- "sex on the internet is bad." John, MissM and the other roommates shone through despite MTV's attempts to sully their joy. I'm so tired of reading, listening or watching stories of the Internet being a bad, bad place for people to hang out. Like the real world, you need to be vigilant, but why tar everything with the same brush? Perhaps MTV is frightened that this Internet thing might really catch on and they'll stop making their gazillions of dollars. Additionally, we wouldn't want people to become creative with their own projects when they could be swallowing broadcasted pap, now would we? John, you light up the world and don't let the bastards tell you anything else. |
