harrrrrrumph! still crazy

Just a little different than the Dead Pool.

The new VW convertible commercial that was shot around the corner on Cole Street is now gracing the airwaves. I thought the blond at the beginning looked familiar and then I realized what I was looking at. I was stuck in Alpha Market with her for one take. Alas, Levy, Wa-El and the others from Alpha are nowhere to be seen.

Word on the street is that the director liked the exterior of Alpha so much that he told them not to change a thing, right down to the "Help Wanted" sign in the window. Things were a little different next door, as half of the exterior of Cole Valley hardware was transformed into a cafe. They liked the faux wood exterior so much so that they've left it on.

While it's great to see the final product, living in a neighbourhood under siege is not so much fun. For this commercial approximately two and a half blocks of parking spaces were reserved for the four day shoot. Now, this might not sound like all that much, but if you've ever tried to park in Cole Valley, you'll know how horrific it can be.
