Given that the corner of Carl and Cole is the heart of Cole Valley, it's no wonder the residents
are frequently accosted by those seeking signatures for one political cause or another. Hailing from
Canadia, I shy away from these encounters given that my status precludes participation in the electoral process.
"I'm an alien" has long been a personal favourite method of deflection, though tends to lead to some level of awkward discussion.
Today I simply confessed "I'm Canadian." The pollsters response? "You're lucky."
